WEBINAR HGOG– DESIGN CONCEPTS AND ENGINEERING ERRORS IN TAILINGS TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS

By admin on Jun 01 in Refineries.

On October 14, 2020, the webinar on design concepts and engineering errors in tailings transport systems was transmitted, which presented some concepts related to the design of these tailings transport systems and said some of the more design errors. frequently found in them.

Tailings transport systems are designed to usually operate in a transport mode using pressurized flow and pumping systems, sometimes pressurized flow of the gravitational type and in other systems, it is operated in an open contour flow condition. The consideration of rheological parameters of the tailings has been considered in the last decade with greater force, but some concepts of limit velocities still prevail that do not consider such rheological information.

The webinar was presented by Luis Navarro, a civil hydraulic engineer from the Catholic University, who works as a process manager for Hiltons Global in Chile. He also has more than 32 years of professional experience in pipeline projects.
